THE INTERN FILES: #PSL OR BUST
Written September 12, 2017 by Rebecca Blake
As the seasons begin to change and we swap our strappy leather sandals for cozy fall boots, one thing is for sure—fall would not be able to reach its full potential as the (arguably) greatest season of the year without the help of the coveted Pumpkin Spice Latte. Just as the #PSL has been bringing fall to the top of the seasonal food chain since 2003, partnering with a marketing agency can help do the same for your business.
Without further ado, I give you the top 5 reasons that working with a marketing agency is surprisingly similar to the perfect Pumpkin Spice Latte:
Soy, double-shot, extra sweet, nonfat, no whip… the list goes on. Just as you can customize the PSL to be exactly what you’re craving, a great marketing firm can do the same for your brand. Whether you’re looking to tweak a few aspects of your website or do a complete brand refresh, the work created with your marketing partner will be made to order.
- MULTIFUNCTIONAL AND EFFECTIVE
Aside from pairing perfectly with crisp mornings and colorful falling leaves, the PSL satisfies your sweet tooth and may just help your a.m. tasks go a bit more smoothly. As I’ve learned in the past couple of months, creating solutions for a variety of purposes is a valuable trait. From billboards to websites, decals to brand books, and logos to social media content, work that is created in the shop is strategically organized to work together with all other aspects of the campaign for maximum effectiveness and functionality.
Just as the PSL comes and goes as the seasons change, so should your marketing efforts. Having a smart foundational strategy that can shift throughout the year will help you reach your audiences more effectively. Being flexible and open-minded to new ideas is vital to staying on top of current trends – or creating them.
The PSL has its own unique personality, just like your brand. We’re all about bringing out your brand’s character, and you want a marketing partner who thinks that way. A smart team gets to know the brands they’re working with before anything is developed, ensuring that the vision you have for your company’s identity aligns with the work that’s created.
Just as the PSL changed its recipe in 2015, RGC is constantly evolving to better meet the needs of our clients. As we broaden our scope to include services well beyond branding and design work, we are able to provide even better solutions to the business challenges our clients are facing.
If I have learned one thing while being at RGC for the past two months, it is that there are a lot more moving parts that come together to execute an effective marketing strategy than I had originally thought. Having a team of experts that choreograph what may seem to be an overwhelming list of goals and objectives help your brand stand out in the marketplace and rise to the top. From government work to packaged goods, the diversity of projects I have been able to see from start to finish has been eye-opening. I have so much respect for the process of how to properly take a project from kickoff to final files, and have only begun to scratch the surface of what that looks like. I am looking forward to further broadening my skillset and expanding the types of work I can contribute to, and now that fall is just about here, you can bet I’ll be enjoying my own PSL while doing so.
